Elton Lin

Elton is the co-founder and CEO of Comet and has worked with teens for almost twenty years. In recent years, he founded and led ILUMIN Education, one of the top 30 educational consulting firms in the US, which has helped students gain admission to every top 50 university in the United States, including every Ivy League institution, multiple times over. 

Elton is also a seasoned entrepreneur having launched numerous successful ventures, both for-profit and not-for-profit. With Comet, Elton distills down what he and his team have learned from over 12 years of advising teens on every aspect of their college preparation journey. Comet’s goal is to democratize private college counseling and make applying to college easier for everyone. 

Elton graduated with a BS in Civil Engineering from UC Davis and completed his MDiv in Theology from Trinity International University near Chicago, IL. Elton is a sought after speaker and has been featured by news outlets and podcasts across the United States. He is a member of the National Association for College Admissions Counseling and a professional member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association.
